Hundreds of products that touch our daily lives originate from methanol as an essential chemical building block. Cars, trucks, buses, ships, cookstoves, kilns, generators, and fuel cells are increasingly using methanol as a low carbon and net carbon-neutral fuel. These markets all operate within public policy frameworks that are increasingly being driven towards low carbon solutions. As the trade association for the global methanol industry, the Methanol Institute engages with policy-makers, industry stakeholders, NGOs, and news media to support policies and regulations that recognize the important contributions methanol offers for this transition.
