About Giacomo Rispoli

Giacomo Rispoli holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rome.  He joined Nextchem at the beginning of 2020 with the responsibility of leading Waste to Chemical Business Unit based mainly on the valorization of syngas production coming from waste gasification along with the chemical products that can be generated.  Previously he spent 33 years in Eni Refining Business covering many responsibilities.

The latest responsibility in Eni until 2019 was Executive Vice President of Portfolio Management & Supply and Licensing.

From 2010 to 2015 he was Executive Vice President of Research, Technological Development & Projects. He was responsible for the implementation of the first EST (Eni Slurry Technology) industrial unit in the world, in Eni Sannazzaro refinery.  Mr Rispoli was also responsible for prominent projects in the field of biofuels development, as the conversion of the conventional oil Venice refinery into a biorefinery based on his patent.

From 2006 to 2010 he was Eni R&D Director.

From 2004 to 2006, he has been the President and CEO of the Eni Gela Refinery.

From 2001 to 2004, he has been the Venice Refinery Manager.

He currently is senior fellow of Fondazione Enrico Mattei.
