The Methanol Foundation is a non-profit educational and scientific organization dedicated to supporting the greater use of methanol as a clean energy resource. The Foundation focuses the scientific and educational resources of public, private, non-profit and academic organizations to advance technologies for methanol production and use. The Foundation also promotes efforts to educate the public and academia on the environmental benefits of the use of methanol and its derivatives. The Methanol Foundation will accept unsolicited proposals, respond to competitive solicitations, and join in consortia research projects.
The Methanol Foundation seeks to further the past accomplishments of MI. The Foundation proposes to collaborate with MI Member Companies, other methanol producers, methanol industry service companies, natural gas suppliers and distributors, automobile manufacturers, technology developers, government agencies, and other not-for-profit foundations. The adoption of innovative technologies like methanol fuel cells will require broad-based consumer education, and training for the next generation of engineers and scientists. The Methanol Foundation allocates its resources to meet this challenge, in conjunction with diverse research and development initiatives.
